Meet Our PSW: Ayushma Adhikari
This month, we’re proud to highlight Ayushma, one of our incredible Personal Support Workers. Known for their kindness and professionalism, Ayushma goes above and beyond to make clients feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. Recently, she stepped in to fill a last-minute shift cancellation, ensuring our client continued to receive uninterrupted care and support.

Preparing for Winter: Care Tips for Seniors
As temperatures begin to drop, it’s important to take steps to stay safe, warm, and healthy throughout the winter months.
Here are a few helpful reminders for seniors and families:
- Layer Up for Warmth: Winter is predicted to come early this year so be sure to dress in layers and keep blankets nearby to maintain body heat.
- Check Heating Systems Early: Ensure furnaces, space heaters, and fireplaces are inspected and safe to use.
- Prevent Falls: Keep walkways clear of ice and snow, and be sure to have non-slip footwear for indoors and outdoors.
- Stock Up on Essentials: Have extra medications, groceries, salt for driveways/walkways, and supplies ready in case of winter storms.
- Stay Connected: Regular check-ins, whether by phone or in person, can help ensure safety and prevent isolation and depression during colder months.
A little preparation now can make the winter season safer and more comfortable for everyone.
Community Outreach
This month, our team proudly attended the AlayaCare “Better Outcomes” Conference in Toronto, joining other leaders in home and community care to explore new ways to improve client experiences. Watch our Better Outcomes video below to see the event highlights and follow our social media for regular updates!
We also continue to engage in local GNCC (Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce) events, strengthening our partnerships with local businesses in the Niagara Region and community involvement.
In October, we advocated for World Mental Health Day and International Day of Older Persons (World Seniors Day). Two important occasions that align with our mission to support mental wellness and celebrate seniors’ invaluable contributions to our communities.
